J-AGE is a Coordination Action for the early implementation of the Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) “More Years, Better Lives – the Challenges and Opportunities of Demographic Change”.
J-AGE is funded by the European Commission in the course of the 7th Framework Programme.
J-Age will support and foster the overall management of the JPI, the development of the Strategic Research Agenda and its implementation by joint activities of Member States, the mapping of relevant national programmes and a complementary foresight activity. Furthermore, information exchange and dissemination with regard to scientific and societal stakeholders of demographic change and policy makers and research funders as well as an evaluation and monitoring exercise of the JPI will be part of the work plan. In the end, the project and the JPI seek to strengthen the base of multi-disciplinary and holistic ageing research in Europe and to provide scientific evidence for policy responses to demographic change.
The J-AGE Consortium consists of 9 Organisations and is supported by all JPI Member States.
The Co-ordinator of J-AGE is VDI/VDE-IT.
J-AGE has started at the 1st of September 2012 and finished at the end of February 2015.
